LandOps ("we," "us," or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you use LandOps, how we use it, and the choices you have regarding your data.

This policy applies to all users of the LandOps platform, including account administrators, team members, and organizations that access the Service through any subscription tier.

2. Information We Collect

We collect the following categories of information:

Account and Profile Information

When you create an account or join an organization, we collect your name, email address, job title, company name, and any other information you provide during registration.

Deal and Business Data

LandOps stores the operational data you enter into the platform. This includes property records, deal details, offer amounts, contract documents, notes, and any other deal-related content you upload or create.

Contact Information

Information about sellers, buyers, and other contacts that you import or manually add to the platform. This may include names, phone numbers, email addresses, mailing addresses, and property ownership records.

Usage Data

We collect information about how you interact with the Service, including pages visited, features used, search queries, session duration, and error logs. This data is used to improve platform performance and reliability.

Billing Information

Payment information is collected and processed by our billing provider (Stripe). LandOps does not store full credit card numbers. We retain billing history, subscription status, and plan details.

Technical Data

IP address, browser type, device type, operating system, and similar technical identifiers collected automatically when you access the Service.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use collected information to:

  • Provide, operate, and maintain the Service
  • Process payments and manage your subscription
  • Send transactional communications (account setup, password reset, billing receipts)
  • Send product updates and announcements (you may opt out at any time)
  • Diagnose and fix technical issues
  • Improve platform features based on usage patterns
  • Comply with applicable legal obligations
  • Detect, prevent, and respond to fraud, abuse, or security incidents

We do not sell your personal information or your business data to third parties. We do not use your deal data or contact data for advertising purposes.

4. Third-Party Services

LandOps relies on the following third-party services to operate. Each has its own privacy practices:

  • Supabase - Database hosting and authentication infrastructure. Your data is stored in Supabase-managed infrastructure. See supabase.com/privacy.
  • Stripe - Payment processing and subscription billing. See stripe.com/privacy.
  • Email providers - If you connect an email account (Gmail, Microsoft), those messages are accessed and stored only as needed to sync deal communications into the platform.
  • Vercel - Application hosting and edge network. See vercel.com/legal/privacy-policy.
  • OpenAI - Certain AI-powered features (such as automated comps analysis) may send anonymized property data to OpenAI for processing. No personal contact information is shared with OpenAI.

5. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active or as necessary to provide the Service. Specific retention practices:

  • Active accounts - Data is retained for the life of your account.
  • Cancelled accounts - Data is retained for 30 days after cancellation to allow for export. After 30 days, account data is deleted from production systems. Backups may persist for up to 90 days.
  • Usage logs - System logs and analytics data are retained for up to 12 months.
  • Billing records - Financial records are retained as required by applicable law, typically 7 years.

6. Your Rights

You have the following rights regarding your data. To exercise any of these, contact us at privacy@landops.io:

  • Access - Request a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
  • Correction - Request that we correct inaccurate or incomplete information.
  • Export - Export your deal data, contact data, and other business records through the platform at any time, or request a full data export from our support team.
  • Deletion - Request deletion of your account and associated data. Some information may be retained as required by law or for legitimate business purposes such as fraud prevention.
  • Opt-out of marketing - You may opt out of non-transactional email communications at any time via the unsubscribe link in any marketing email or through your account settings.

We will respond to verified requests within 30 days. We may need to verify your identity before fulfilling a request.

7. Cookies and Tracking

LandOps uses cookies and similar browser storage technologies to operate the Service. Specifically:

  • Session cookies - Required for authentication and to keep you logged in. These are essential and cannot be disabled without breaking the Service.
  • Preference cookies - Store your UI preferences such as sidebar state and display settings.
  • Analytics - We may use limited analytics to understand platform usage patterns. This data is aggregated and not sold or shared with advertisers.

We do not use third-party advertising cookies or cross-site tracking technologies.

8. Security

We implement technical and organizational measures to protect your data, including:

  • Encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest
  • Role-based access controls to limit data access within the platform
  • Multi-factor authentication support for user accounts
  • Regular security reviews and dependency updates

No system is completely secure. In the event of a data breach that affects your personal information, we will notify you as required by applicable law.

9. Data Transfers

LandOps is operated from the United States. If you access the Service from outside the US, your data will be transferred to and processed in the US. By using the Service, you consent to this transfer.

10. Children's Privacy

The Service is not directed to individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. If you believe a minor has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it promptly.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will notify you by email or via an in-app notice at least 14 days before the changes take effect. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will always reflect the most recent revision.

Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
